ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the status quo of stress response, self-care and job performance among nurses in emergency department, and to analyze whether self-care has a mediating effect between stress response and job performance.Methods:This was a cross-sectional survey. From February to April 2022, 467 emergency department nurses from 11 tertiary hospitals in Changsha were investigated and analyzed by using random cluster sampling method, general data questionnaire, Stress Response Questionnaire, Self-Compassion Scale and Nursing Performance Scale.Results:The total score of nurses′ Stress Response Questionnaire was (78.02 ± 26.78) points, the total score of Self-Compassion Scale was (81.75 ± 22.23) points, and the total score of Nursing Performance Scale was (74.05 ± 21.57) points. Stress response was negatively correlated with self-care and work performance ( r=-0.452, -0.572, both P<0.01), and self-care was positively correlated with work performance ( r=0.515, P<0.01). Self-care played a partial mediating role between stress response and job performance, accounting for 26.98% of the total effect. Conclusions:Self-care is an intermediary variable between emergency department nurses′ stress response and work performance. Nursing managers should pay attention to emergency department nurses′self-care and stress response levels, and evaluate them regularly in order to take timely intervention measures to improve their self care ability, reduce stress response, and improve work performance of emergency department nurses.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To understand the current situation of the demand for humanistic care of schizophrenics in convalescence and analyze the influencing factors, so as to provide the basis for clinical nurses to carry out targeted humanistic care for patients.Methods:A self-produced scale with a total score of 49-245 was used to investigate 516 convalescent period schizophrenic patients in 18 tertiary mental health institutions in 13 provinces of China, single factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed on their influencing factors.Results:The Likert 5-point scoring method was used. The overall score of the nursing care needs of hospitalized schizophrenic patients was (202.85±35.06) points, and the average score of total items were (4.14±0.16) points. Multiple linear regression results showed female ( B=0.100, P=0.024), stable marriage ( B=-0.098, P=0.026),high school (including secondary school) Education ( B=-0.107, P=0.018), family per capita monthly income of 2 000 yuan or above ( B=0.093, P=0.043),central region ( B=-0.110, P=0.014) were the main factors that affect the demand for humanistic care of inpatients with schizophrenia in convalescence. Conclusion:The hospitalized schizophrenic patients have higher and diversified needs for humanistic care. Patients with different genders, marital status, education level, monthly family income and living area have different needs for humanistic care. Individualized and standardized nursing should be given according to the actual situation of patients' needs to provide a more supportive environment for their rehabilitation.

Objective@#To assess the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) CHRNA4 gene with response to selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD).@*Methods@#For 304 patients receiving drug treatment for major depression, 2 SNPs, namely rs4522666 and rs4603829, of the CHRNA4 gene were determined by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry. HAMD-17 was adopted as the primary rating tool to evaluate the severity of depression on the baseline and at the end of 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th weeks treatment.@*Results@#The frequency of GG genotype/G allele for rs4522666 differed significantly from that of TT and GT genotypes/T allele between responders and non-responders (P =0.015 and P=0.006, respectively). No significant difference was found in genotypic and allelic frequencies of rs4603829 between the two groups (P > 0.05).@*Conclusion@#SNPs of the CHRNA4 gene may play an important role in the response to antidepressant drugs among ethnic Han Chinese with MDD.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To assess the association of TPH2 gene polymorphisms with the response or remission to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) drugs during treatment of major depressive disorder.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>For 304 patients receiving SSRIs treatment for major depression disorder, 3 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs1007023, rs1023990 and rs4570625) in the TPH2 gene were genotyped by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry using a MassArray Analyzer 4 system. HAMD-17 was adopted as the primary rating tool to evaluate the severity of depression on the baseline and at the end of 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th week of treatment.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The frequency of GG genotype/G allele for rs4570625 differed significantly with the frequency of TT and GT genotypes/T allele between responders and non-responders (P=0.013 and 0.007, respectively). Genotypic and allelic frequencies of the other polymorphisms did not differ significantly between the two groups (P>0.05). No association of TPH2 gene polymorphism with remission was found with the 3 SNPs.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The polymorphisms of TPH2 gene may play an important role in response to antidepressant drug therapy.</p>

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To compare the efficiency of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs) with rat BMSCs (rBMSCs) transfected by modified adenovirus containing fiber 35 (AdF35)-enhanced green fluorescence protein(eGFP).@*METHODS@#We separated hBMSCs and rBMSCs from the bone marrow of humans and rats, respectively, and osteogenesis and adipogenesis were induced. eGFP was carried by modified AdF35, which was transfected to hBMSCs and rBMSCs with different multiplicity of infections (MOIs). Activity of the cells was detected by MTT. The transfected cells were observed under fluorescent microscope. The transfection efficiency was measured by flow cytometer. The expression of coxsackie and adenovirus receptor (CAR) and CD46 mRNA in the cells was inspected by real time PCR.@*RESULTS@#hBMSCs and rBMSCs induced osteogenesis and adipogenesis successfully after being separated from human and rat bone marrow respectively. The activity of the cells was inhibited when MOI was 1,000 PFU/mL. hBMSCs with strong green fluorescence were observed but few rBMSCs were seen under fluorescence microscope 48 h after being transfected by AdF35-eGFP. The transfective efficiency was (84.8±7.1)% and (3.3±1.1)%, respectively. The expression of CD46 was high while that of CAR was low in hBMSCs. The expression of CAR was very high and that of CD46 was low in rBMSCs (P<0.01).@*CONCLUSION@#AdF35 may be the ideal vector to carry the target gene to transfect hBMSCs effectively but not to transfect rBMSCs.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the application of multi-tumor markers protein chip diagnostic system in the diagnosis of gastric cancer.Methods Of the 80 patients with gastric cancer,70 patients who suffered from benign digestive disease and 50 healthy persons served as controls.The contents of alpha fetoprotein(AFP),carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),neuron-specific enolase(NSE),carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125),carbohydrate antigen 153(CA153),carbohydrate antigen 242(CA242),carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199),prostate specific antigen(PSA),free prostate specific antigen(fPSA),ferritin(FER),?-human chorionic gonadotrophin(?-HCG) and human growth hormone(HGH) in the serum of 80 patients with gastric cancer,70 patients with benign digestive disease and 50 healthy persons were determined with multi-tumor markers protein chip assistance diagnostic system and analyzed with statistic method.Results There were 74 patients(92.75%) with tumor makers in serum in 80 cases of gastric cancer,10 cases(14.28%) with tumor makers in 70 cases of benign digestive disease,and 1 case with tumor makers in 50 cases of normal controls.The NSE,HGH,PSA and f-PSA were detected in the serum of partial patients with gastric cancer.Conclusion The application of multi-tumor markers protein chip diagnostic system has certain clinical value in the diagnosis of gastric cancer before surgery.
